Our DJ Crew

Isaac “DJ Tecumseh” Dyckhoff
Co-Founder + Chief Party Rocker

DJ Tecumseh, the co-founder and Principal DJ, has followed a path towards music and deejaying, since his young days growing up in Skyway, South Seattle. Pursuing the path of deejay skills, he escaped the traps and pitfalls of city life that burdened so many of his friends. After more than seventeen years of paying dues, DJ Tecumseh has emerged as one of the strongest full package deejays in the Northwest. DJ Tecumseh can rock a school dance, supersize a sweet sixteen party, jazz up the annual corporate event, scratch all night long, and make your mama do the hustle at your cousin’s wedding.

Often asked about the meaning of his deejay moniker, DJ Tecumseh proudly states that the name takes after a historic Native American leader. The historic Tecumseh, whose name means “Panther Springing AcrossThe Sky,” was a Shawnee and pan-tribal political leader that helped unite different tribes against the westward invasion. DJ Tecumseh takes on this name in honor of his own roots as a member of the Wintu Tribe from Northern California. With this name, Tecumseh unites audiences with his music and upholds his duty to serve one nation under the groove.

Currently, DJ Tecumseh gets his groove on daily with consistent bookings for modern weddings, stylish corporate events, launch parties and other special events. He is often complimented on his ability to read the crowd and play music to suit audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

DJ Tecumseh looks forward to his future as a cutting edge DJ and will continue to rock the tables with soul, passion and style.

Guillermo “DJ Cues” Quevedo
Partner DJ

DJ Cues started mixing and scratching in 1999. He learned the ways of Turntablism by battling it out at DJ competitions and performing at local Hip Hop events. DJ Cues quickly gained the respect of fellow turntablist and Bamboo Beats owner, DJ Tecumseh. Together, they eventually worked together to host weekly scratch sessions that involved 8 turntables of live DJ action.

Over the years DJ Cues’ skills flourished as he mixed, scratched and rocked his way through parties, competitions and mobile events. In 2003, DJ Cues continued on his path by deejaying the wedding of DJ Tecumseh and Jojo. DJ Tecumseh was a big influence in sharing the Art of Deejaying and DJ Cues became even more well-rounded in mixing, reading the crowd, creating new styles and producing new music. It was at their wedding that DJ Cues realized that deejaying was the lifestyle he wanted to pursue.

DJ Cues also pursued and married the love of his life, Rubbie, and lived in San Diego and Greece where he continued to deejay on a regular basis. He also has two handsome young sons.

In his career as a professional entertainer, DJ Cues has deejayed for weddings, mobile events, mix shows, parties, and club nights.  After returning to the Northwest in 2008, DJ Cues has joined Bamboo Beats as a premiere partner DJ, specializing in weddings and private events.  Since DJ Tecumseh and Jojo trusted DJ Cues for their wedding, rest assured your event is in good hands!

Beauregard “DJ Gumbeaux” Breaux
Partner DJ

DJ Gumbeaux is a DJ/Turntablist with 14 years of experience. His Deejay name comes from a fusion of his given name and his love for his home state of Louisiana. His love of music began in Louisiana when he started out playing drums. DJ Gumbeaux always had a solid grasp on all types of rhythms, from the basic 4 on the floor time to zydeco, Afro-Cuban, SoCo and much more. Moving on to DJing, he learned to use the turntables as instruments and discovered that he could not only use the turntables to “drum” with records but he could also “play” the guitar, horns, keys, etc along with his own samples and make even more music!

As a turntablist, DJ Gumbeaux began as a scratch artist and quickly established himself as a well rounded contender through DJ battles, showcases and party rocking at special events. After moving to Seattle around 2000, DJ Gumbeaux met DJ Tecumseh and Jojo in the scene and they have been successfully working together on special events ever since.

In his many years of experience, DJ Gumbeaux has deejayed for weddings, parties, clubs and has toured the world deejaying for various musical artists. Bamboo Beats is excited to include DJ Gumbeaux into its roster of world class DJ performers! You will love his Southern hospitality and charm on the turntables!

  • Alias: DJ Gumbeaux – His name is a tribute to his Cajun heritage. Hailing from southeast Louisiana, Gumbeaux loves the food and musical atmosphere. Just like you mix “roux” for gumbo, he loves to mix sounds in the same manner – tasteful and a little spicy!
  • Experience: 15 years +
  • Ethnic Background:  Cajun
  • Favorite Inspirational Quote: “I never tried to prove nothing, just wanted to give a good show. My life has always been my music, it’s always come first, but the music ain’t worth nothing if you can’t lay it on the public. The main thing is to live for that audience, ’cause what you’re there for is to please the people.” – Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong
  • 3 Favorite DJ Moments: [1] Winning my first DJ Battle ![2] Incorporating “turntablism” into all facets of my music [3] Every time I see folks dancing and being in the moment with the music.

Joanna “Jojo” Dyckhoff
Co-Founder + Business Manager

Jojo is the co-founder of Bamboo Beats and handles all the marketing and event coordination. She has always had a passion for style, entertainment and entrepreneurship! With degrees from the University of Washington and the Seattle Central Apparel Design Program, Jojo held design positions at specialty urban clothing lines and eco-friendly lifestyle brands. Jojo now dedicates all of her time to the business of Bamboo Beats, but you can check out her lifestyle blog, to see how the event industry has inspired her design sense and vice versa.

In 2002, Jojo met the love of her life, DJ Tecumseh. While promoting a DJ inspired fashion show, she was re-acquainted with DJ Tecumseh, whom she had known since the 90′s Hip Hop scene, and knew right away that they were meant to be. The following year, they planned their wedding and realized that there was a lack of hip wedding DJs for modern urban couples looking for a DJ without all the cheese. A couple of years later Jojo and DJ Tecumseh decided that they wanted to start a business together so they leaped into the mobile DJ business.

Jojo loves working with wedding couples and naturally does all she can to make each couple feel special. She enjoys using her coordination skills and attention to detail at each event, making sure everything goes as smoothly and as stylishly as possible.
